Ask where the dust went

Beats live in a temporal chain, and the checklist between them is physical: where did the dust go, where did the wind go, what is the light doing now versus a moment ago, what momentum carries over. Most of it rides implicitly on good writing — but naming it explicitly produces visibly stronger continuity.

Think in chains, not snapshots.
